Fun!

Activities

I enjoyed the activities in Mrs. Denton's ECYF 351 course. Her activities gave me some ideas of how I can incorprate these types of activities in my own classroom.

Guest Speakers

Library (maps and resources): I liked when our guest speaker talked about maps and resoures that can be sued within our classroom. I did not realize we could go and laminate posters for our classroom. I liked all of their examples they shared with us and how they incorprated their maps into lessons. I can not wait to use this as my resource for the future.

edTPA (Mr. Pavlechklo): When Mr. Pavlechklo came and talked to our students about student teaching, it made me nervous when he was talking about student teaching. I was thinking wow I am almost done with my college experience. When he said students need a score of 35 out of 75 to pass, , I became nervous that the student teaching is difficult. once he started talking about how you can talk to your mentor and him about what has happened you could still pass.

Career Center: I did not realize Ball State had a career center so this speaker information was very knew to me. I am glad she talked to everyone about resumes, applying for a job, and going over cover letters. This is information I will look into once I start writing my information for my soon to be teaching job. I am glad she had books to take so we can look into the career center for guidence.

Kindergarten teacher (Heidi Keever): I enjoyed listening to Heidi Keever, she gave me some insight on how students behave, and that not all classes will have the same classroom managment. By some of the informatio Heidi was talking about I could relate to because I currently work at a school system and deal with behaviors every day. I got some resources and information from Heidi that I will use at my job. I like how Heidi mentioned "we have to put ourselves in their shoes and understand how everyone has different backgrounds".
